Hvad er en blog?

Som nyhedskilde udgør blogs stadig en brøkdel af det samlede mediebillede, men fænomenet har været i nærmest eksplosiv stigning igennem det seneste årti. De blogs man oftest støder på på nettet er private familiehjemmesider, virksomheds- eller organisationshjemmesider eller netbutikker. Blogs har med et interesseområde af gøre og hvor mode og teknik/gadgets nok er de mest udbredte blogemner. Her er det oftest kun en ”bloggeren” der opretter indlæg eller lægger billeder på siden, og besøgende på siden kan så komme med kommentarer på dette.

Gratis eller ej?

Blogs er bl.a. blevet så udbredt, da der er kommet brugervenlige oprettelsesværktøjer og oftest er mange af programmerne gratis. Man skal dog lige have for øje, at vælger man et gratis system til sin blog kan bloggen komme til at ligge på blog-udbyders hjemmeside (f.eks. minblog.udbyderenshjemmeside.dk) eller også skal du selv oprette bloggen på dit webhotel. Så for du tilgengæld også dit eget domæne, men det koster så lidt at oprette webhotel og købe domæne.

WordPress er svær at komme uden om

Af gratis hjemmeside-opsætningsprogrammer vil jeg nævne WordPress, da det nok er den mest anvendte gratis platform i verden. Der er flere end 22 millioner WordPress-blogs på verdensplan, og blandt de mest kendte brugere af WordPress-platformen, finder man New York Times og Wall Street Journal. I Danmark anvender Berlingske Media, Jyllands-Posten og MetroXpress også platformen. At så store medier vælger WordPress siger af sig selv lidt om kvaliteten, brugervenligheden etc.

WordPress vælger jeg også at fremhæve, da det er den platform, jeg selv har brugt til mine blogs, da  jeg synes, det er nemt at bruge. Hvordan andre oprettelsesværktøjer er ved jeg ikke, men med en WordPress blog kommer du i hvert fald hurtigt i gang med en blog, hvis funktionaliteter udvikles konstant.

Udover WordPress er Googles blogger.com udbredt. Herhjemme er der også mange gratis steder, hvor du kan oprette en blog. Siden omalt.dk har lavet en god liste.
