Efterskoleophold til unge med særlige forudsætninger

Et efterskoleophold er en unik mulighed for, at få nye venner og udvikle sig personligt. Specialefterskolen er et tilbud til unge med særlige forudsætninger.  Det kan handle om ADHD, autisme, Aspergers, ADD, Downs syndrom, Tourettes eller andre helt individuelle situationer.

Der findes 10 specialefterskoler i Danmark, der kan tilbyde en undervisning, der er målrettet den enkelte elevs forudsætninger. Det handler bl.a. om at lære, at tro på sig sig selv og egne evner. Det handler også om, at opleve, at kunne være rigtig god til noget og finde frem til noget af alt det man er god til i sted for kun af fokusere på det der er svært. Endelig handler det om kammeratskab nye venner og en masse fælles oplevelser.

Undervisningen er tilpasset den enkelte elevs forudsætninger

På en specialefterskole bliver selværdet styrket både i kraft af en individuel målrettet undervisning og et godt kammeratskab. Dermed er et ophold på en specialefterskole en unik mulighed for at bryde ud af de vandte rammer, som den hidtidige skolegang har sat og frigøre den enkelte elevs evner og potentialer.

Et år på efterskole kan gøre en verden til forskel i forhold til den personlige udvikling, for et efterskoleophold er som en personlig dannelsesrejse på et tidspunkt i livet, hvor den unge går fra at være barn til at være voksen. Som forældre sender du et barn af sted, men får en ung/voksen tilbage, der har en masse gode oplevelser, venskaber og erfaringer i bagagen. For mange elever vil et efterskoleophold ikke kun være et springbrædt til det videre liv, men også en tid, der vil præge den enkelte resten af livet og give mod på fremtidige udfordringer.
