At få sin krop tilbage

Jeg kan ikke glemme en kvinde, der efter hun havde født sagde: ’Når jeg ser ned ad mig selv i badet, føler jeg mig iført et hylster’.

Præcis sådan havde jeg det, efter jeg havde født Emil. Fra den ene dag til den anden var min krop blevet uigenkendelig – måske mest i mine egne øjne foran spejlet, men alligevel. Min mave var hverken flad eller flot rund, men hang som en sandsæk. Og mange af de kilo, jeg havde taget på under graviditeten, var der stadig.

Da jeg blev gravid forandrede min krop sig over ni måneder. Det var lang nok tid, til jeg kunne vænne mig til mit nye udseende med rund mave, ekstra kilo på sidebenene og andre mindre flatterende forandringer, jeg ikke har lyst til at beskrive her. Som gravid havde jeg ikke bare lang tid til at vænne mig til min krops nye facon med ekstra strut til for og bag, jeg følte mig også smuk.

Efter fødslen tænkte jeg, at jeg nok hurtigt ville tabe mig igen. For eksempel har jeg hørt, at man forbrænder mange kalorier af at amme. Men når jeg læste på nettet, så jeg kun ret så irriterende indlæg af nybagte mødre, der hurtigt efter fødslen havde tabt sig.

»Jeg tog i alt 10 kilo på under min graviditet, og er nu fire uger efter fødslen nede på min normalvægt,« skrev én for eksempel.

Argh! … Jeg havde kun taget 15 kilo på, og manglede stadig at tabe syv kilo, fire uger efter jeg havde født.

Heldigvis arbejdede tiden for mig. Emils glubske sult og et par daglige barnevognsture gjorde nok, at min krop langsomt vendte tilbage til normalen.

I dag står jeg med den samme vægt og krop som før graviditeten og føler mig lidt dum efter alle mine bekymringer foran spejlet. Jeg skal ikke kunne sige, hvor let det at få sin gamle vægt tilbage for kvinder, der har taget plus 30 kilo på under graviditeten. Det er nok en anden historie. Men jeg tager bare mig selv til hovedet og siger: Hold kæft, Julia, hvor har du gjort et kæmpe problem ud af noget, der bare var midlertidigt.
